Worship

Why do we do church the way we do?
What is worship?
Is it something we do on Sundays when we go to church?
What are we doing if we are not worshipping at church on Sundays?
What are we worshipping the rest of the week if we relegate God-focused worship to a mere two hours on Sundays.
What is the church?
Aren’t we the people of Christ the church?
Because if such is true then how do we go to Church if we are the Church?
What is the church building?
Why do we have church buildings?
Why do we do church the way we do?

The Church is not a building, nor is it an activity we do. We are the Church and we were created to worship. The drive we feel in our hearts to invest ourselves into something greater than we are, is the response to God’s continual calling of our hearts for intimate relationship with Him. God is continually pouring His love out to us whether we acknowledge it or not. It is the return of this love through our own outpouring back to God and into the lives of others that we worship God. Worship is a continuous thing, because if we are not pouring ourselves out to God and to others in response to God’s love, then what are we pouring ourselves into. Is it sports, work, money, hobbies. Are we pouring ourselves into these things as something separate from God? Do we pour out our lives into the worldly 6 days a week, and to God on Sundays? Or are we worshipping God through the daily aspects of our lives? Whatever it is we do in our lives we are to do in worship to God. Our love and our character should reflect God’s. When we pour out ourselves into the daily let it not be for the sake of the worldly, but that through those activities we may worship God.
